Car issues

I don’t know what happened to my car this morning but it wasn’t good. One moment I was driving along on my way to work and the next moment the car shut off and I lost power steering. Thankfully I was not on the freeway when it happened. The engine was really smoking too so much so that I could have sent smoke signals to the tow truck driver instead of calling him. The tow truck driver was no mechanic but he told me I should probably start looking for used engines for sale if I wanted to keep my car. That was not what I wanted to hear. The car is in the shop and I’m anxiously awaiting their phone call. I really hope it is nothing serious like needing a new engine. I just don’t have money for something like that right now and all my credit cards only have a few hundred dollars available on them.
